What was the highlight of Oceania l'Hôtel de France Nantes
Lovely, comfy hotel in the centre of town, great staff, just need to improve their cycle facilities!
We had a lovely big room with a very comfy bed and the bathroom was also large. It overlooked the courtyard so even though the hotel is in the centre of town it was very quiet. All the members of staff we spoke to were very helpful and friendly. I would have given it a "9" if it wasn't for the cycle facilities - see 'what we didn't like'.
Breakfast was good in terms of choice but felt a bit disorganised (some items - including coffee at one point - seemed to run out and not get replenished until someone specifically asked), it felt like they were short-staffed, which may just be a temporary issue. We arrived by bicycle and there were only about 6 bike rack spaces in the courtyard, most of which had been taken up by three large e-bikes. They weren't locked up so we could move one of them to make space for our normal-sized non-e bikes. However, the bike racks were badly positioned on a platform with a concrete lip so our bikes were half off/half on the platform and because of the type of racks that they were it was difficult to lock up our bikes without the rack leaning against our derailleurs. Also, the cycle racks were not covered (but luckily it did not rain while we were staying).

Highly recommend!
We were driving, prior to our arrival to arrival to the Hotel I had requested parking or the vehicle. I was told to call them before arrival. I called and a Gracious staff member Simon navigated us through the whole process leading us to the parking lot. Once upon arrival at our request, he met us in the parking lot to navigate once again into the Hotel. We arrived around 7:30pm, we were all tired and hungry. Simon suggested a restaurant and made reservations for us (which at that time of the night is virtually impossible, but he did!) The breakfast was very good and plentiful, the rooms were spacious and clean, the staff was exceptional and the location was perfect.
The scrabbled eggs at breakfast, but we encountered that throughout France.
